Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Just a quick update of sorts.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Yay for being green.

I'm still working on getting the package together to send to publishers. My goal is by the end of this month to send it off to the first one. I'll keep you updated.

There are so many amazing people and artists and people artists on DA I'm overwhelmed. I'm so glad I started doing this. It's just the push I needed to get back to what I love. <3

Also... I've been thinking about doing journal pages... but on canvas... and maybe bigger...

Which leads me to the idea of making an etsy? Being a stay at home mom isn't bringing in the big bucks like I thought it would. heh. I'll keep you up dated on that as well. - Hm. Etsy charges and takes a cut. *wrinkles nose* Anyone used them before? Have any feedback? I'm not sure I like that.

I love music.

I don't think I could ever... would have ever made any art without it.

You should share your favorite music with me. Songs. Artists. Whatever... I'm always looking for new stuff.

I hardly ever draw/paint/etc. without music. Beck (Sexx Laws, Gamma Ray, Time Bomb)is good for that sort of thing, though I also like Devendra Banhart (Little Yellow Spider, Long-Haired Child, Lover, This is the Way) for more mellow moments. Röyksopp (Circuit Breaker, Poor Leno, Only This Moment) is also great, but the influence on my art tends to be a little psychedelic, depending on the song.

And, for any occasion, there's The Similou's "All This Love". It's just happy.

Anything by Muse is wonderful.
