"and listened to the old bray of my heart:  I am, I am, I am."

I've committed myself to "Art Every Day Month". I've been in such a funk lately. And I think it's mainly due to laziness and no personal motivation. So - I'm hoping this will help. I always hold myself more accountable when other people are involved.

I'll be posting something creative a day on my blog. I wish I could commit to something finished a day - but that's not really realistic for me at the moment. So some of them might be unfinished pieces or pages. As long as I pick up a paint brush or write something, I'll consider my day a success.

All of the finished work will be posted here of course.

If you'd like to join in or just want more information go here: [link]

I've been toying with a few ideas in my head.

One is starting a traveling journal. I've tried to do this for a while. (Once while I was living in Germany, but I never managed to get it off the ground.) So I'm going to give this idea another shot.

But I think I'm going to write up a separate journal for this one.
So excuse the possible journal spam.

The other idea that's been hanging out is something kind of strange. I've wanted to do some kind of public art motivational thing.

Someone was kind enough to show me "you are beautiful", [link]

Which is kind of the same idea. But I want this to be more broad. More open to what the message might be. It can be something as simple as leaving a letter somewhere for someone to find. Or spray painting your message for the entire world to see. But I want to have a place for all of this to pile up. So people could visit and be inspired to do something as well or also just so that idea might be seen by more eyes. The internet is wonderful - and magically makes everything international.

But I'm not sure how to do this yet. A group on DA? Or club? But I don't have the money to fund a subscription. And I know very little about both.

A myspace page maybe? Facebook?

I still haven't decided where to do this.

Any ideas? Words of advice? Thoughts?

Sounds like a neat idea. I like that it sounds more like encouraging you to be mindful without being stressed to keep up with demands for production every day.

Yeah, I'm liking the lack of pressure. (Very un-NaNoWriMo)

But I also really like the idea of getting in the habit of creating everyday - whether there's a finish product or not.

I've been really interested for a long time in the idea of positive message graffiti. To me it just seems like something we need to see all the time, and why not?
Now that it's getting cold, though, I kinda doubt I'll get into it any time soon...
Still, I think a DA club would be better than facebook, since facebook doesn't really have the greatest image display capabilities, with the mandatory resizing and the slight color distortion and whatnot.

I'm a big fan of it too.
And if all goes as planned then I might be participating in my first attempt at stencil graffiti art this Sat.

Nothing too epic - just simple for my first go.

I'm thinking I'm going to start it as a DA club/group. To be honest I'm not familiar with the difference.) That way people can e-mail me submissions and it can be anonymous if they like.

I think it would be cool to have locations though. It would be cool to be able to find some of the permanent public ones if they were close to you, you know?

Also - with the colder weather you can forgo the HUGE public art and give a more personal thing a shot. (if you haven't already.)

I've ALWAYS loved the idea of leaving things in books in libraries or book stores.

And you could really get creative with how and where you leave things.

Interesting ideas, and I'm cheering you on for the Art-a-Day and figuring out the public art thing. Onward!

I really love the public art idea.
I'm all up for sharing love and showing it to the rest of the world (: ♥

And I agree with you, I think it would be best to set up a club, but I don't think you need a sub for it since you can just have people send you images and you can submit them as deviations.

Awesome!

Well - I'm going to go and check out how to make a club then. <3
