But only for tonight. We're headed to my father-in-laws to stay with them. Turns out they're moving to CT in a few weeks. So I'll be gone again, but only for a week this time.
My trip was lovely. A lack of art making, but I snuck it in where ever I could find the time.
I did pick up some lovely art items. <3 We went to a cheap scrapbooking store. Those places are so dangerous. I'm sure a few things I purchased will be making their way onto my pages.
We also went to a place called Book Barn. It was AMAZING. A barn (and more than one) filled with books. An entire 2 and a half walls dedicated to just art books. Nice big ones. With colored pictures for... 12$ and under. <3 Those things aren't cheap. So I picked up a few of those for inspiration.

On a different subject I found something fun to share.
I was introduced to the 1000 journals project by someone on here. shakeitlester !!! And while I was visiting my friend just happened to own the book. So I read it. And it was lovely. But the amazing part is you can go to 1001journals.com and request to have a journal sent to you. OR make your own journal to release into the world. OR go to a place where a stationary journal is and work in it. It's a pretty amazing project that I'll definitely be taking an interest in.
My friend from college lived there - she just packed up and moved to Portland. But it's pretty much right by the casinos. If that gives you a better reference? I'm not really sure. Are you orignally from CT? You're in Mass, right?
Massage therapy, really? That's awesome, and an interesting jump from the art field. More interesting is the friend that I was visiting in CT is looking to do the same. Must be something in the water in CT you all want to do massages. <3
I put my name down for a couple of journals on 1001journals but I haven't heard anything in a really long time.
Maybe they're avoiding me. LOL
I agree about scrapbooking shops - there's always some tasty little something that I *know* I can use in a piece of artwork at some point and the temptation is always too great. Junk shops are lethal for me as well... all those amazing pieces of detritus and boxes of old abandoned photos. Mmm
Aww.... That's sad to hear about the 1000 jornals.
I was thinking I'd sign up for one or maybe find a local one and then introduce one of my own. A while back I had planned to do one with some friends. A traveling one. Kind of like a game of telephone where you allow the page before you to inspire what you do. I like the idea of art as a conversation. Some of my friends were even going to write music or poetry... But I got busy or lazy and never got around to it. Using this site sounds like it could be helpful- so maybe I'll pick that idea up again.
Junk stores - specifically in the north are super dangerous for me. I can't ever seem to find any good things at the flea markets down here. If it's what I'm looking for they usually brand it "antique" and then hike up the price.
I was looking for old photos too and couldn't find any. So now I'm searchig e-bay to see if anyone will put some up cheap.
Where do you get materials? Or do you just let them find you and inspiration goes from there?
<3 your work lady by the way

I didn't know you lived in CT. Where abouts?
And there's always Graduate school? Right? <3
So what are you up to these days? Still on WoW?
Im in the fairfield county area and am currently looking into massage therapy schools
