I can't believe it, but it's time to sign up for Love Yourself For Art already!
Sign ups start tomorrow. (Or you can go ahead and send me a note now <3)
I hope everyone's been doing well.
I've been doing a really good job at keeping myself busy. And I'm really excited about LYFA this year. I've got some things in the work that I hope will make it a little different and fun.
I'm wanting to make things a bit bigger this year. Before this was a "contest" of sorts for those who suffered from any (of the many) forms of self injury. I've always tried to keep that open to interpretation, and I still stick with that.
But this year I want ANYONE to participate. Sign up and pledge to be better to yourself for just a month. That might mean resisting the urge, or being aware and even stopping yourself when you KNOW you're being too hard on yourself, or treating yourself to something special that you wouldn't normally do.
So here's the run down (again) of how it all works.
WHO:
* ANYONE can participate - even those who have before.
HOW:
* Send me a note saying that you're in before the 1st of March. (As that's the day the contest actually starts.)
* Starting March 1st - LOVE YOURSELF! Become aware of how you act toward you.
* At the end of March/beginning of April you'll receive a note from me asking how the month went and getting an address where snail mail can reach you. (that's how you'll get your prize in the mail.)
PRIZE:
* One 2 ½ X 3 ½ in. original piece of art. (About the size of a playing card.)
(There is always the option to not give an address and still participate anyway. I'm hoping that I will receive some digital donations just in case there is anyone out there who isn't comfortable sharing their address.)
That being said if you want to participate but love yourself enough already you can SHARE THE LOVE!
Anyone who is interested in donating an art card(s) - feel free to also note me. I would be more than happy to send you more information on what I'm looking for. I have a little something for those who donate cards as well this year. <3 Yay!
You're more than welcome to BOTH participate as well as donate.
If I've forgotten anything or you have any questions let me know. <3

My "contest" is a little different than most on DA.
It doesn't involve any art making unless you want to - or if you want to donate a piece.
Basically, if you want to participate, you just let me know. And then starting today, you just try to be more aware of how you treat yourself for the entire month of March.
At the end of the month, I ask how you think you did and if you think you've improved, I send you your "prize" in the mail. And if you think you haven't improved... well, you get something special anyway. There's really no way to lose and there's not just one great winner.
If you're interested in donating a mini (baseball card sized) piece of artwork that will be mailed out to the "winners" - let me know and I will happily note you more information on that. <3
I don't think I'll be able to give an address; I live in Mongolia right now, so it's just a little far away
But yeah, I'll definitely try to improve myself.
Oh! I've sent them all over. So if you're comfortable giving out an address - I'd love to send one to you. It's not as expensive as everyone seems to think. (As long as there aren't any regulations concerning art in the mail there that I'm not aware of.)
<3
I'll send you the information about donating a piece as well, but of course, there's no pressure.
I'll have to check what address I can use - Mail won't get to my house, so I'll just check that it can come to an office.
You said you would remind us again closer to the start of March. Is a reminder a week in okay to ask for too? I'm sure I'm not the only one who will find it difficult to do
Oh and one last thing, when you sign me up can you sign me up on my main account, =Itti? I don't always check this one so any notes or whatever might get lost.
I note at the beginning, half way through, and then again at the end.
But I think the beginning of ever weeks sounds like a marvelous idea. And I don't see why I couldn't do a little something.
I responded to this account, but all notes to follow will go to your main. <3 Thanks for giving this a shot.
By all means. That's just the kind of thinking that needs to be stopped.
Before it was a bit more black and white as to how you "win".
With this kind of thing - it's going to have to be an attempt to be more aware of it. And an honest attempt at correcting it.
You know?
Anyway - I've written your name down and I'll be sending you a note when it gets closer to the first. <3
