It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

You should sign up. It's not too expensive. (25$) But you've only got a little while longer to sign up.

I received my book in about a week and you have to finish the book by the 15th of Jan. The pages are really really thin - so I'm gluing/sewing them together. So I have about 20 pages or so.

So expect to see those pages popping up.

Also - I really really want to finish MY sketchbook by the new year. We shall see?

And more paintings in the works.

And considering doing NANOWRIMO. Hm... I think I like to be busy.

That would be awesome. (The - having a partner and someone to cheer you on thing.)

And you can definitely participate if you live in the UK. The only rotten thing is - you won't get to see it on tour as they only go within the US for now. Perhaps they will get to change that in the future. Or maybe someone will start up something similar out that way.

There is... but it's pretty late in the game. I think I was cutting it close, but I didn't learn about the project until late.

The deadline this year was Jan 15th.
So I think the starting date will be May 2011.
